Sully & Jen's Wedding

We're in Maxim Magazine!

Photographed at the best seat in the house - the pickup truck outside - at Jacques-Imo's on Oak Street during Voodoo Fest 2008.  The current (March) issue of Maxim magazine in an article entitled "The Real Big Easy".  Nice.

Up Late Again

The Wyfe is out visiting friends as I am sick as a dog and, unfortunately, missing Sully's bachelor party.  Crushing.  To add insult to injury I am up late working on a grant application, recasting a presentation, drafting our Investor Letter, etc.  Ah well...  Going to quit soon only to get some rest so I feel 100% for Sully's wedding this weekend.

Maybe one more paragraph...

Happy Mardi Gras!

Happy Mardi Gras y'all...  First one I've missed in 4 years but just couldn't do it this year due to economic pressures.  But I wish a very happy Mardi Gras to all y'all and here is a nice new video from our friends at Bonerama (who are playing our upcoming Jazz Fest costume party!)

RIP: Snooks Eaglin

Legendary guitarist and friend of Rock n' Bowl Snooks Eaglin has passed.  As our friend John said in this Times-Picayune announcement

"He was the most New Orleans of all the New Orleans acts that are still living," said Mid-City Lanes owner John Blancher.

Thanks for the music.

And then... She was gone.

The Wyfe heads to the airport for an international business trip! Safe travels & report back from across the pond!

The Wife Sings!

"These Boots Are Made For Walkin'" - NAILED IT!

No... It's just us.

Karaoke with Sully.  Just the two of us in a room singing. At 5:30pm.  Thankfully the Ladies arrived after a little while.  Learned a few things:

1.  Sober karaoke is challenging.

2.  Which explains why no one is at a karaoke bar at 5:30.

3.  The Wife has a rocking singing voice, with or without alcohol.

After our karaoke interlude, the ever-generous Sully took us to a fabulous dinner at Double Crown.  Many thanks & a very nice (early) night out with Sully & Jen.

Physical Activity & Time Constraints

Have been trying to make a concerted effort to get to the gym more, with mixed results.  Have tried going first thing in the morning which, while sub-optimal from an energy-level standpoint at least gets it out of the way for the day.  The problem is Time.

But I am trying to take back some time to hit the gym.  Today was one of those good days.  Haven't had much time for blog posts or social activities, but at least today I worked out.  Ran 3 miles, then lifted (abs, back & bi's), then ran another 1 1/4 mile, then swam a little over a quarter mile.  It felt great.  If only it happened more often.

Back to work...

Make Mardi Gras a National Holiday!

New Orleans food company Zatarain's has created a petition to make Mardi Gras a national holiday.  As a fan of theirs, all things New Orleans, and Mardi Gras specifically I say an abundant "YES!"

Click HERE to sign the petition and laissez les bon temps roulez...  "A jazzy declaration" indeed...
