The Wife on Colbert
As described, here is the clip of The Bride on "The Colbert Report." As Dr. Vizzone exits, about 7 seconds before the end, she can be seen...

The Colbert Report
Thanks to the wonderfully generous Matt S. we were able to get VIP access to the taping of last night's Colbert Report. Very, very funny as always. A particularly good episode and you can see us (particularly The Wife) on TV in a crowd shot. [Actually, if you click here and watch the clip entitled "Wrist Watch - Vizzone" and you really look, you can see her. Right at the end, pause it at the 7 seconds left mark and she is sitting in the stands with her legs crossed in a blue dress, applauding.] As an added bonus, the opening comedian even singled JD out for ridicule calling him "Arnold Palmer," "a walking stereotype," and a "rich douche" asking, "if you fell off your money, would you get hurt?" Followed it up with a delicious garlic steak dinner at Bistecca Fiorentina and then a quick nightcap at Lansdowne Road. Truly a fantastic pre-birthday gift all around...

Colbert Injured!
Our comedic hero, Stephen Colbert, injured himself a few days ago in a fall during his pre-show crowd warm up. Sad really... But thankfully, due to the generosity of Matt S., we are going to A VIP TAPING OF HIS SHOW TONIGHT! That should cheer him up. Shocking footage of his fall below... Stay strong, Stephen. We're coming.

A Tennessee Squire
thanks to the recommendation to membership of my father-in-law, I am now a "Tennessee Squire." the Squires are an honorary association, recognized by the Jack Daniel distillery and have included many famous figures over the years, including Sinatra. As part of this honor, you are also awarded a deed to a plot of land in Moore County, Tennessee on the grounds of the distillery. Quite an honor indeed and one I shall humbly try to uphold...

Seafood Chateau
The uber-generous & delightful Marvelous Matt S. took The Wife & I out to a splendid dinner at Blue Water Grill. Opened with the five-level seafood chateau. Glorious excess.
2 lb lobster, 8 jumbo shrimp, 16 oysters, 8 littleneck clams, 1 lb. Mussels, 4 Louisiana crawfish, 6 King Crab Claws, and Bay Scallop Ceviche.
Ridiculous... As Matt said, "This is why the terrorists hate us."

Cleo The Huntress
My Mom has a great cat - Cleo, The Huntress. This morning, as we were breakfasting outside, Cleo brought me a wounded chipmunk for breakfast - only wounded so I could get the kill. But then the chipmunk played dead & scampered off across the garage roof. Actually, pretty impressive maneuvering by the rodent, reminiscent of the opening scene in the construction site of "Casino Royale." Cleo just trounced off to find me something else.

"Ice, Ice, Baby..."
For Marvelous Matt's birthday, I took him to a suprise musical event. Richard Cheese & Lounge Against the Machine at the Bowery Ballroom. Truly fantastic and hilarious, just like the Birthday Boy. There was a burlesque opening act which I filmed, but is not suitable for a family show like this one, and then the Main Event. Hysterical... Here, Monsieur Cheese performs Vanilla Ice's immortal classic "Ice, Ice, Baby" in a Lounge Style.
TOUCHDOWN - GRANT!
The Big Guy scores his first touchdown in the dog-eat-dog world of Professional Pool Football... Well done, buddy!

Monkey on a Swing
Okay... haven't been able to update the blog in a while due to a crushing workload, so thought I would try to quickly catch up... This photo is a monkey on a swing. A few weeks ago we had a quiet weekend in Southern Connecticut suburbia with the Cumberlands & Sturckes. Great time, including a wonderful steak dinner with Kevin & Tracey and ending at a Grateful Dead cover band party on someone's front lawn. Replete with a 60 foot swing that one particular monkey really enjoyed... Who knew the suburbs could be that much fun?
