Edwin Booth's Apology to the American People

Ewa's cleaning so I am working from The Players. On Mark Twain's card table.

Edwin Booth was the founder of The Players (along with Mark Twain & General William Tecumseh Sherman) as well as the biggest Shakespearian actor / celebrity of his day. Sadly, his fame & family name were eclipsed by the actions of his brother John Wilkes Booth. At The Players we have his apology letter to the American people and it never fails to move me. Click through on the image to see a larger version. Staggering.
