Unexpected NY
Went to a great lecture at the U. Club last night with Matt. Chester Burger, author of "Unexpected NY" spoke. An incredibly engaging and lively 87 year-old World War II veteran and native New Yorker who was also the first ever television news correspondent, Mr. Burger has documented (Photographed and wrote about) 87 New York City places that are undiscovered or unnoticed treasures. Fascinating. He told of Grant's Tomb, and the first ever African-American graduate of Harvard that spearheaded its creation among many other gems. I recommend the book highly, but can't lend out my signed copy...
